Bemidji State University (MN, Midwest rank #93) - $7,969 including room and board
Minot State University (ND, Midwest rank #107) - $10,632 including room and board

The in state tuition is terrible here so I was looking hard for good deals. I considered them both for a month or two before I realized I didn't want to be stuck in the middle of nowhere in a very... un-diverse, rural place. It's a crazy bargain if you don't care though. ...Maybe.

EDIT: Oops, Hillo is right, it's $15,076/yr at Bemidji. I was just looking at a single semester.

Texas A&M only requires $8,505.68/yr for tuition+fees if you receive a $1,000 scholarship (they offer just SO many scholarships, so getting one shouldn't be an issue).

It seems that everyone receives a $1,000 Opportunity Award according to this thread.
Also, the low cost of living isn't bad either (off-campus housing can be cheaper than dorm halls, and the cheapest halls are less than $3,000/yr).

By the way MintCake, Bemidji State is $15,076/yr for tuition+fees+room+board.
So it looks like Minot State wins?

Oh yea - an athlete in my class is going to a community college in California in order to later transfer to UCLA.
My brother (who got all 1's except two 2's on his AP Exams) was able to transfer to USC after one year.
I personally would have gone through community college again if I was unable to receive any scholarships or financial aid.

Wyoming is $13,500 OOS. Not an ivy league, but I have friends that were accepted to medical and dental schools in Columbia, NYU, University of Washington, MN, Maryland, and Boston just in the small group of people I knew.

Smaller universities can lack the prestige, but you have big opportunities to be leaders in your class which is really important.

New Mexico State. 19000 per year. OOS tuition at U NM medical school 46000' per year. Also check out WUE Western undergrad exchange also known as WICHE. A bunch of states offer reduced tuition if u live in a state that is a member and go to school in another state that is also a member. Check with the school you want to attend for other programs. I live in New Mexico but attended school in El Paso TX and paid instate tuition.

OP is from Boston, or at least New England. WUE is only the Western states. Some of the states charge slightly more than IS tuition for WUE students. I know an Oregon resident that is going to go to Colorado, and will be paying less than IS tuition in Oregon.
