I have studied quite a bit for the MCAT. will this help me out on the DAT? what i'm asking is.....they test on the same material except how much different is the test format. is it passage based like MCATS?

p.s. i understand there is a math and perception test.

I took the MCATS and DAT. If you studied for MCAT, science sections on DAT should be a breeze. As for the math section, it's just a little bit more difficult than SAT math section. If you did well on your SAT math section, then just a quick review on trignometry and such should be adequate. For the reading comprehension, it's all about recognizing the answers that are hidden in the passage. It is NOT like MCAT verbal where you have to completely understand the passage to answer the questions. The DAT verbal questions are straightforward and answers are very obviously in teh passage. The trick to it is being able to read through the long passage and actually locating the answer within the passage. You will need some practice for this. As for PAT, some people do fine without much studying and others need more time. Regardless, I would HIGHLY recommend doing some practice problems adn timing yourself as there are tricks and shortcuts to doing well in PAT portion of DAT.
