Have you considered the University of Oklahoma at Oklahoma City? It is within the geographic area of your other considerations. If not then I would highly recommend looking.

Along the same lines, I've heard that Driscoll in Corpus Christi is also quite good!

I did a Sub-I at Austin and I liked the program a lot. The residents were solid as a team - they got along well together, and the attendings were all about teaching. It was a nice place to be.
