Hi everyone! Does anyone know what schools will send you information on their program (like brochures and that kind of stuff) if you email admissions or fill out a form on their website?

I know most things are on the school's website, but brochures/info packets usually have all of the pertinent information in one place. And they're helpful in comparing schools 🙂

I know Cornell has a bulletin that you can sign up for (something like that would also be helpful!).

I'm mostly looking for info on the following schools (though if someone wants to post info about another school to help someone else out, I'm sure that would be appreciated):

Washington, Wisconsin, Virginia-Maryland, Tufts, Penn, North Carolina, Minnesota, Florida, Ohio, Louisiana, Kansas, Illinois, Missouri, and Colorado.

I'm going to look at everyone's websites and I'll post back here if I find anything.

I was going to mention Cornell, but I see you've seen that already. Beware, it's been very difficult to get OFF of their mailing list apparently! Maybe they're hoping I'll transfer? lol

Nice, Dr. Wildlife! Nstarz, if you ask me nicely I can mail you a real copy of the brochure. 🙂

(Because you want to apply to OKSU, you just don't *know* it yet. 😉 )

Haha! I totally would, because NJ actually has a contract with Oklahoma. However, I honestly cannot see myself living there for four years (no offense intended!) and I don't want to take the bio GRE. Stupid reasons, but there you have it!

Tufts will send you a book about their program if you provide them with your information... there's a form you can submit online lurking in the prospective applicants area. They'll also invite you to all sorts of seminars and stuff (which looked pretty interesting, but always seemed to be scheduled at times that weren't convenient for me).

SGU sends you a HUGE information package. It's really fancy.

Highly doubt you're planning on applying there though.

Seriously though... it was the nicest information package I have ever received. It's in a cute little folder and everything.

agreed on both of those accounts! No offense to Oklahoma. I just need my mountains in some form or a beach or something to look at it. Too...much...open..spacesssssss.

Minnesota sent me a beautiful packet, I would highly recommend requesting one. I'm one of those people who like hold something concrete in their hands instead of navigating a website. I was very impressed with theirs and with Tufts, as someone already mentioned.

That's okay, it's just less competition for those that realize how nice Oklahoma is. Rolling plains are just as nice to look at as hills, and sunsets are amazing.

I'm partial to the thunderstorms 😍... definitely one thing I miss living in the Northeast!

Haven't ruled OK out if I end up having to reapply, but it might be a teensy bit on the conservative side for my taste, though. I have relatives in Nebraska and attempted a year at UNL, but it just wasn't a great fit for me.

Vet school actually is surprisingly liberal about most things. Obviously there are still the strait-laced conservatives, but everyone tends to get along really well. And we have fun! Honestly, I was worried about moving here, about not having a beach and about being the only liberal in the whole town, and I haven't had any issues. On days like today when its 75 and sunny, I'm torn between missing the beach and being very happy that there isn't four feet of snow on the ground like there is back home:laugh:

Where did you find the request form for Minnesota? I can't seem to find it on their website..

Welp, I probably should have checked that the link was still there before singing it's praises and getting your hopes up...It appears to have been made into a download-able PDF file because the little picture of the course catalog is the one that they sent me last year...Apologies! 😳

I never said it wasn't nice. Just that its very different than what I grew up with. Id still apply because I think the vet school is really nice.
