Hi everyone,

I took the DAT this past week and now contemplating a retake. I scored well on the sciences (TS 21), but my score for the PAT section was terrible (16😱). I scored a 20 on my last Crack the PAT test and felt ready, but ended up running out of time due to poor time management on the real test.

Needless to say, I am now leaning towards a retake in December. I figure I'll send my current score in and inform the schools that I'll be retaking in December. But my questions are as follows:

1. Will schools automatically set my application aside until my retake in
December?......meaning will schools that may have considered/invited
me to interview with my current scores automatically hold off and put
my application on hold until my retake? Or will schools interview me/or
make a decision on my application despite being informed of my plans to
retake in December?

2. While I believe I can improve my scores on all sections of the test, I
totally understand the possibility that my other scores may drop on my
retake. But I have also heard that some schools will only consider the
higher scores if the test is taken more than once. Is this true...and if
so, how does this work?....which schools do this?

3. Overall, would you guys recommend a retake, or is it too late in the
cycle to risk it....should I just roll with these scores for this cycle?
(my undergrad GPA is slightly below 3.0....and my grad (masters) GPA is
slightly shy of 3.9).

Thanks for any and all help/advise/info!

I say stick with your scores... they are not bad.

Retake it in december anyways, but dont inform anyone about it, so they could process your application.

If anyone asks you in an interview about your low PAT score, just say your planning on retaking the DAT.
