whats the point of infosource?

i still don't get it. most of the schools have not updated mine. not even the ones where i interviewed.

thay all say n/a...????

Infosource was updated today for me, and lo and behold, I got my first rejection from UNLV. I contacted the head of admissions and she told me that I was out of state, and there requirements for out of state were much higher this year.......I dont even know why i applied, cause I knew it was gonna happen.....oh well.....first one down!

On infosource has anyone had an offer made message under creighton? I have that message but I have not interviewed there. It's too late to call.

I sent my secondary application to Creighton over a month ago but in my infosource status shows that it's waiting for additional info. The most recent update of that school is 11/6 and it has been frozen since. Has anyone get an update from this school after 11/6?

12/5 is the most recent update for Creighton on my infosource

My Creighton infosource was also updated the 1st week of December.

They may just have not gotten around to your secondary yet. It's best to give them a call if you think there is a problem.

yes, we all pay for InfoSource. It is a new technology implemented for the first time for the last application cycle and increased the price (AADSAS Fee) so much. It suppose to allow faster direct communication between the applicants and the schools. Many school are not using the techology yet, but we still pay for it.

NOT at all true. School are in direct control of InfoSource. In fact, AADSAS has no responsibility with InfoSource other than making sure its up and running. No info gets communicated with AADSAS. dental schools have ways to get into the system and update things. lets keep in mind that not all schools use InfoSsource.

i found infosource to be of use when it came to making sure the schools received my app.

beyond that, i find the rest to be a complete joke.
only 4-5 schools that i have applied to have actually updated their things correctly. the rest, just says N/A.

The school that seems to update most regularly is Maryland. They continually tell me every week that my application is denied. That is nice; I was afraid I was going to forget.

Hey Perfect...how did your Meharry interview go?

this was the 1st interview that i am not sure of. i have mixed feelings about this one.
i was interviewed by 2 diff people in 2 diff times. so i was interviewed twcice.

the 1st one: open file. not sure how it went. he seemed very tough and he sounded like he wanted to convince me not to go into dentistry. kept saying why i haven't looked into other feilds etc. he also kept telling me that he has heard it all b4 about how everyone wants to help the underserved etc etc. basically, i feel like he wasn't believing me or something, but then again that may just be to see how i react under pressure.

the 2nd interview: closed file. felt like it went even better than at IU. he told me that this was the best interview he has conducted in 10 yrs. he told me that he hadn't looked into my file and that he was ipressed with my interview and that he would make sure he write something nice to the adcom.

so basically i have no idea how to take this.
by the way, i did leave a complete interview feedback.

Damn it, my account on the infosource have not been updated since Nov, 03. Every school except one has a status of N/A...either the schools don't want to waste their time to update my status or they just forgot about me ! (Although I have received letter from each of the schools) Infosource is as useless as the people/association that run(s) it!😉

I got rejected from Pitts too a couple of day before I got the letter which was yesterday. So tired of this. I just concentrating on getting into a post-bac program at one of the cal state Universities.
