infosource is about as reliable as a ouija board i was accepted to tufts and sent in a deposit months ago but it says my application is "under review"....go figure
A few weeks into my application cycle, I got an "applicant withdrew application" on a school to which I'd never applied before (until this cycle). How could I withdraw if I'd not applied in the first place?
I think "Application denied" means that the school didn't give you an interview, which WOULD be a mistake. Because really, your application was considered and reviewed carefully if they gave you an interview.
Try InfoSource customer service hotline... they were helpful to me when I had problems..InfoSource Customer Service at (800) 353-2237. http://infosource.adea.org/
I posted earlier this weekend about this...
A day after my interview at Tufts last week it said on Infosource that I had been accepted.
I cant trust something I only see on that website..hope its true, but would love to know if anyone else had this happen since I havent been able to call or anything due to the long weekend.
I think Infosource is reliable but it is very poorly updated by the schools. In some cases (BU for example) Infosource will inform you of an invite even before the letter comes in the mail. In other cases schools don't even bother updating Infosource at all, and you could be accepted somewhere and Infosource doesn't say anything.
I think schools need to computerize their databases on the status of applications and use a system that allows their system to automatically update Infosource daily. With all the technology we have I wish schools would start to embrace some of it.
