Have you relieved crnas more than they have relieved you?

Has anyone left the program or switched into different specialties?

Have attendings been staying or leaving?

What are the latest times elective cases are booked?

Are there elective cases scheduled on Saturdays and Sundays?

Which residents usually leave later in the day- surgical or anesthesia residents?

Do you have call rooms available to sleep in when on call?

Which ones do you have?

I always liked to ask what the residents thought the strongest and weakest parts of their training were.

I think there is no point about asking about scheduling of cases in evenings or on weekends in except as much as I'd ask about normal work days and how many weekends you work and what not. I mean doesn't matter to a resident if there are elective cases starting at 6 PM on a weekday if you are relieved by 5 PM at the latest.

Also surgery residents schedule is irrelevant to your day.

If there are cases scheduled, and you are not being relieved, then you'll end up doing them.

Relieved by 5pm!?

Wow. Sweet hours.

we'd always get relieved by 5 PM from regular OR rotations so we could go do our preops for the next day. We still averaged more than 60 hours per week so it wasn't like a total cake walk of work hours.
