Was just wondering if anyone of you expert can give me some insights about ucla and unlv.

I love both schools but can't decide. Ucla students made it seemed like their lives are so miserable and didn't have anytime for themselves. Unlv probably isn't much easier but i feel like I'd be surrounded by people who are less competitive. Since i only want to become a general dentist, i just really want to enjoy my time in dental school.

Nor Cal is awesome but if I don't have anytime to socialize, it's quite meaningless!

UCLA is in southern california. but i would go to whichever is cheaper, if one is cheaper than the other...

Oh yeah sorry i meant to say socal

I'm applying for hpsp scholarship and i think ucla is cheaper in term of tuition but living cost is much more expensive. I think i value the time I have at the school more than the cost.

Isn't UCLA pass/fail? I visited UNLV as a pre-dent and wasn't really feeling it. I recently visited UCLA for a residency externship and wasn't really feeling it either. With that being said I still think UCLA is a better school and is very well-rounded. However UCLA has all the specialties while I think UNLV only has ortho/pedo? So maybe you get more experience with less specialties? Idk, I think Las Vegas would get old really quickly but it's up to you. No school makes everyone happy, I'm sure every school has a bunch of students that are burned out.

After taking finances under consideration, go wherever you think you'll be happiest. Seriously, life doesn't stop b/c you're in dental school and you won't get those four years back. Make the most of it. I love where I am.
