Hey Everyone,

During grad school last year I made a really bad mistake in my final paper/project for a class. In the write up I paraphrased a paragraph but didn't cite it according source as a result my professor gave me a 0 for the project which was 30% of my grade and I went from an A to a C. The professor thought it was too similar to the reference source she found. I begged for forgiveness and was genuinely sorry but she still reported it to the dean and I accepted the penalty which was an 0 for the project and reported violation. For reference, it was a 10 page paper/project and that was the only thing that was copied. After talking with the Dean she told me that it doesn't show up on my transcripts but she told me that sometimes when people get accepted some schools requests a personnel or academic file on the person and that would show this transgression. So i guess she has a file on record in her office or something like that. I have listed this on my AMCAS application. How badly will this hurt me?
