So here's the quick version: I took an incomplete in an independent study so that I could collect more data over the summer. This was something my advisor and I agreed upon. However, I was placed on academic warning that summer because with the incomplete my record showed I wasnt meeting my school's requirements to graduate. The reason for this was because in an earlier semester I only completed 3 classes (i dropped a course because of a complicated situation involving a sick friend). The warning appears on my transcript but only for that summer. I returned to good academic standing as soon as I turned in my final project. My question is...do I need to address the 3 class semester in the explanation for Institutional Action on my primary AMCAS? Or is that something I can address in the secondary? I just worry that I dont have enough room to explain the extenuating circumstances...and also the 3 course semester was 2 semesters prior to my receiving the warning. What do you think?
