Hello, everyone..

I'm preparing for residency in maybe Pedo, maybe Ortho.

As everyone knows, the PASS application requires Evaluation letters.

( 1 Insitutional, upto 3 Professional )

Who would be the right person for me to aks for the Institutional Evaluation?

Is the dean (or may be associate dean of students affairs or associate dean of education ) only the one who can write an institutional evaluation?

Or would it be also possible for one of the professors in the institute to write an evaluation for me ?

I'm planning to get letters from a professor in the department of Ortho or Pedo, but I'm not sure if it is acceptable as an Institutional evaluation.

I think it would be OK if the professor is the chair of that particular department, but I'm still not sure.... Since I was trained in the Dental SCHOOL and STUDENT's CLINIC not the residency clinic.

Can anyone give me an advise ?

Thank you very much in advance.

Regmata is correct. There is a protocol for every institution with regard to this. The office of administration does this for you upon request. At my dental school, the Dean of Academic Affairs was in charge of writing these letters. This letter generally includes many things; in fact, I believe your NBDE scores are initially reported to residency programs via this letter.

I have a question: Is professional evaluation the same as a letter of recommendation? That is, my instructors (who will write a LOR) will not have to send a separate letter to PASS?

Thanks for the help.
