Instrument kit

Does anyone know where I could find a dental instrument kit? One with a mirror, some picks, etc? I'd like to have them to get the feel of using them. I won't be working on anyone's teeth...

Sort of like this:

but cheaper...

Just chill out dude! All in good time. Besides, what's the point? You still need to know in what position to sit in and the correct ergonomic sitting position so you don't screw up your neck, shoulder, and back. What about proper fulcrum and what you're even feeling for when using the explorer? (its not a "pick" by the way)

Ha! I'm not freaking out. I just thought it would be fun to play around with using tools via a mirror. I thought I might could use some of the instruments to shape clay or something. I don't need to know what to feel for since I wouldn't be using them on teeth. BTW - I was using the generic term for the instruments...maybe you are the one who needs to chill out.

I would say this is a bad idea. You wouldn't want to develop bad habits and have to work on correcting it later on.

Yeah, I guess you are right. I thought of this. I thought it might just be good practice to try and play around with using tools via a mirror.

To answer your actual question, Dentek makes a cheap mirror and explorer set. You can pick it up at Walmart in the toothbrush isle. It runs like $5.
