So I originally took the DAT back in Aug/ 2005. Got waitlisted at several schools but didn't get in last cycle to I decided to re-take the test

Aug 2005
AA: 19
TS: 19
Bio: 21
Chem: 17
OChem: 17
RC: 21
QR: 21
PAT: 20

Aug 2007
AA: 19
TS: 21
Bio: 21
Chem: 21
OChem: 20
RC: 18
QR: 16
PAT:19

Not quite what i was going for, not sure what to make of how the results are going to effect my chances at dental school. I kind of expected to do worse on the QR section because of all the posts i had been reading about how it had gotten harder. The QR definitely has gotten a lot more difficult since i took the test the first time. At least half the QR questions were word problems. I guess i'm really puzzled by my RC score. I always did fine in that section on practice tests. I dunno. There were a lot more "tone" questions and subjective questions than i remember.

What do you guys make these scores?

You did really well on the sciences which are probably most important. I think if you have a decent GPA you shoudl have a good shot at getting in. what did you use to get that high on ur sciences?

you did well, your TS increased andyour science scores increased... about other sections, as everyone says it did change so that is probably the reason it felt harder..

overall you did well Congrats and Good luck

The way I see it is if you did well in the sciences and good enough on the rest of the section which I believe you did. Then if you apply early enough you should have a good chance getting in. Good luck to you.

Thanks for the uplifting responses. It honestly makes me feel a little better.
Just to you let you guys know, i used the kaplan material and DAT destroyer to study for the sciences. I agree with the majority on the DAT destroyer, it was spot on, worth the money. I definitely had at least 4 questions almost word for word from the destroyer on the bio section. G chem was mostly theory and hardly any calculations. So make sure you know the thermodynamics laws and gas laws and the like.

I'm not sure what to recommend in preparing for the QR section. Lots or word problems, which probably weren't that difficult, but if i coudn't figure them out right i way i just guessed and moved on to come back later. The problem was i only had a couple minutes left in the end to try and figure out about 7 word problems.

My gpa is 3.4 cum, 3.4 science. Well, gotta keep my fingers crossed.

It's weird. After reading all these posts, I want would want to say that the test for RC and QR has definitely changed, and got harder.

But I never say it because whenever someone makes a post along those lines everyone jumps in and says, "People say that every year!"

So, are we just the group that is saying that this year, or is it really different?😎

Guess it doesn't really matter...
