Interesting stats for those of you applying to UNC

Hopefully this isn't a repost, but this page has the stats for their classes from 2004-2007 - figured it might be helpful for those of you applying there. Enjoy!

out of state is next to impossible to get into ... overall they received 972 applicants for this year i think i twas and accepted 82 i think ...

There seems to be a significant drop in GPA from 2005 to 2007 from 3.5 to 3.3.
Why is that? Is it that 2005 was unusually competitive? 😕

Those are pretty intimidating stats for out-of-state applicants. I'd love to be lucky enough to get an interview and an acceptance there.

Those numbers are deceptive. People in our class are exceedingly bright and the average on like every test is in the mid 80's at least. The tests are not easy and there are a lot of them. Also it seems that this is a second career for a lot of students here, and the majority of people here are married.
I was one of the 5 engineers, and my numbers were about average.
