I just checked it out and seems as it is pretty costly. 20$ for a year, and even then, we have to pay 4$ per electronic delivery...

Is it worth it?

Also, one more question. For LORs, do the LORs go to all schools u apply to if u want , or does the writer have to mention what schools (or all schools) the LOR can be applied to?

Yes, Interfolio is a great way to have your LORs organized. You need to start collecting your LORs now. That means that you need a storage place for them. Interfolio is the place to store them. Another good thing about Interfolio is that after you submit your LORs, they never get deleted, even if you stop paying for the service (at least this is what their rep said on SDN. There might be a theoretical limit of a decade or something, but I guess this is not that important).

No, your LOR writers don't mention the schools. You just give them the instructions from Interfolio and they submit it. It is up to you then to select which LORs to send.

can you read your lors?

can you read your lors?
Usually you sign an agreement that you are not going to ask to see the papers even after you get accepted; however, if you are on close terms with your point of contact, he/she might allow you to see what was written. This doesn't happen often.

Okay, so its worth it if you want to start collecting the letters early on.

One more question, for interfolio to send AMCAS a copy, would I have to pay for each school seperately, or would it send to AMCAS once and then, through AMCAS I'll be able apply the letter to all school?

overall i'd say interfolio is worth it. In the big picture of applying to medical schools, another $20-50 is a drop in the bucket.

however, your undergrad institution may also have a similar service - check with them before you sign up w/ interfolio. a few schools even prefer you go through your school.

when requesting a LOR from someone thru interfolio you can check "confidential" or "non-confidential" letter. If you do non-confidential, you can read it through the interfolio website. Personally I think non-confidential is the way to go - anything that gives your recommenders another reason not to write a sloppy letter is good. That being said, some schools say a confidential letter is good since it shows 'confidence'
