Hello all,
I have asked about interfolio in the past out of curiosity, now I am asking because times are coming where I will need to use it.

1) Do all COMs allow interfolio?

2) When my reccommendation writers are ready to send my letters in, do I send them in or do they?

3) What components of the secondary application can be submitted via interfolio(essay, LORs, Transcripts, App itself).

4) Anyone willing to vouch for Interfolio, any reviews?

1) Do all COMs allow interfolio? I cannot vouch for all schools, but every school that I applied to was cool with interfolio. I applied to CCOM, AZCOM, DMU, KCOM, and a few MD schools. You'll have to ask individual schools, but I think that most of them accept it.

2) When my reccommendation writers are ready to send my letters in, do I send them in or do they? Your LOR writers will send their letters to Interfolio on their own. This ensures that you haven't seen the letters. The writers can upload, fax, or snail mail their letter to interfolio. I actually had letter writers do pick all three of those options, and they all worked out.

3) What components of the secondary application can be submitted via interfolio(essay, LORs, Transcripts, App itself). Your essay and application will be sent via the central service that everybody has to use called AACOMAS, or AMCAS if you are thinking MD.

4) Anyone willing to vouch for Interfolio, any reviews? Interfolio does get a little expensive, but I think that it is 100% worth it if your LOR people are okay using it. It gives you a little bit more control in a process where control is hard to come by. I actually think that it is better for your LOR writers also because you won't have to hound them everytime you apply to a new school. They only have to send it once.

Don't know much about interfolio but i've heard it is really useful and convenient... before you use this check with your undergraduate institution about whether or not they have a similar service. My school ended up having this and i didn't know until midway through my senior year...it will probably be much more affordable and every school I have applied to has accepted my credential file. just putting in my two cents for what it's worth

like shelly said, interfolio is great!

its also great, because you will get an email from interfolio as soon as they receive a letter from one of your writers, which helps you know which professors are keeping with any deadlines you may have set for them.

i know my school did have a service similar to interfolio, but our "service", aka the pre-med advisor, was notorious for sending things out late, or forgetting to include something, so this is why i chose interfolio, personally.

it can get pricey, but this whole process is!! i think its worth the money to know that your precious letters are safe and will get mailed when YOU want them too!

hope this helps :luck:
