Hi all,

I just was wondering what radiology residency programs out there typically let you do your intern year in the same place... if anyone has a list, or knows where one is, i'd love to see it!

also, im doing to be doing couples match in a few years-- any advice as far as that is concerned, or in as far as it relates to radiology?

thanks so much!

Some radiology programs will guarantee you an internship if you match at that institution, but this isn't the norm.

Getting an internship is the easy part. As long as you match in a reasonably populated area, you won't have any trouble. Often, you can coordinate your prelim interviews with radiology, so that you don't have to make two trips. 99% of internship programs will drool over you, so focus your efforts on finding a rads program.

Hopefully, your significant other will be applying in a field that requires an internship. If this is the case, then you can just apply to internships in one city (much, much easier than applying nationwide...) and just plan on doing this independently of wherever you match for rads.

The couples match is a little tricky for radiology, as it is for any competitive specialty. Be prepared to go a little way down your rank list. If you're both applying in competitive fields, you'll need some killer applications and a lot of luck.
