Can anyone apply to Pain Management after having completed a residency in Internal Medicine? Do pain management programs offer this?

Thanks guys for your responses...👎

It is now mandatory for all subspecialty ABMS pain fellowships to accept the applications of anyone that has completed an ABMS residency in any field. Whether one would be accepted into a pain fellowship with an IM background depends on your competition, the philosophies of the particular program, and academics...

"Separate but equal". Maybe they'll admit you but you'll have to drink out of a separate water fountain and go to a different clinic that uses hand-me-down equipment from the rest of the program.
