what are the first rank internal medicine - primary care programs in the country? what about the second tier? how competitive are these residency programs and what should you consider in a program?

Look in the most recent issue of JAMA for number of programs, applicants, and makeup of the participants. It won't help you rank them, but gives an excellent idea of the big picture re:residencies and who gets in.
