Hi I'm a graduate of molecular biology from the Philippines. I got my degree from the Philippines which I'm proud of because of the fact that we produce good graduates competent enough to go to Duke, Baylor, MIT, etc. at par with the international standard but in a resource limited setting.

I plan to pursue PhD at Mt. Sinai but is it possible to shift their MD/PhD program if I do well in grad studies.

Is there a chance to do this any other university?

Hello,

What do you think if I am able to pursue a MPhil. in immunology in Cambridge or in Manchester. I may be able to get a British Chevening scholarship.

Does this increase my chance of getting in an MD/PhD despite being an international student?

Thanks.

As an international student you are expected to have taken the pre-med mandatory courses in an American or Canadian University. You will have to write to all the colleges you plan to apply to ensure whether the pre - med courses taken in Cambridge and in your filipino university will be accepted by US medical colleges.
Secondly it is very competitive to get into MD PhD programs for everyone in general and more particularly for international students who dont have a US undergrad degree. If you have a very high MCAT score you could try applying, however it is advisable to have a backup plan.
