  1. Medical Student
Hi everyone,

I will be graduating in 9 months from a UK medical school. I have previously done a BSc in Chemistry.

I will then be doing a 2 year junior doctor placement in the UK (4 months of which will be research based in psychiatry).

I have an American passport and would like to do a PhD in the U.S. at some point (in a field related to psychiatry e.g. cognitive neuroscience).

I was wanting to ask: A) Is this feasible B)What steps would I take C) would it be possible to undertake clinical work at the same time as studying if I took the USMLE?

Thank you

Rob

Or alternatively does anyone have any advice on international graduates doing research fellowships in the U.S.? Are these generally only open to those that have done a U.S. residency?

Any information or advice would be greatly appreciated

Thanks

Rob
