Guys I am looking for some information in regards to internet access situation in the following schools:

SGU, AUC, Ross, SABA, SMU, St James

If you attend any of the above schools please let me know if internet access is available in dorms on campus, if yes how much dose it cost and if its dial up or high speed, also how reliable is it like if its works all the time or its down a lot….

Also if you live off campus let me know internet situation as well….

Yea thats how I'm posting??
On campus its wireless and in the lIbrary about 15 computers on the net.
It's cable modems and up about 90% of the time
cost is about 45 to 90usd a month to free depending where you live.

I'm not going to lie, the one thing I don't like down here is the internet connections. The internet is up and down all the time. Sometimes we have a great connection (faster than 500 kbps) and other times its like 2 cans and a string (ever do that as a kid)? There are a few people that shipped down Dish's and use DirecTV dsl and they have pretty good quality and don't ever lose signal but it was a pain getting everything down here from what I've heard.

How about if you live on campus, whats the cost?

St. James has no dorms, the campus is in the city but Aprtments and houses are within a mile all around. :luck:

SGU has wireless in most buildings on campus. ie, dorms, library, lecture halls, and cafeteria. It's also very reliable. No added charge.

Off campus. You would have to place a large deposit for DSL. Plus, your land lord would have to agree. Even then, you'll have to wait possibly weeks for the cable guys to get there.

yeah, SGU internet is pretty reliable. Most dorms have internet access in their rooms. And the rest, the school is currently adding them to...

There are two private Dorms now for St. James both have internet, one comes with Cable TV too.

Total of 38 rooms.

I hear they are 500 a month with internet. really close to school

Hulunda is 450 a month with internet not as close but within walking.
