Internship Question about Reapplying

Hi everyone

I am new to SDN but my question is if I match into an osteopathic traditional rotating internship, what is the actual process of which I apply to categorical spots during my intern year? Is the same as ERAS/Rank List in fourth year of med school? Do I need specific letters such as from the program director of my internship? Can someone provide some direction on how interns make this transition? Are there elective months to rotate at those hospitals <kinda like as a med student>?

Apart from that, as an osteopathic med student, should I take all the USMLE steps exams and COMLEX exams prior to applying to these categorical spots? I figure I would be applying to both allopathic and osteopathic categorical programs if I matched into a rotating internship.
