Has anyone not heard back from practices about interviews? The practices I applied to said they would contact applicants via email to set up an interview, but I haven't heard back from them yet. Just wondering if I should contact the practices. Thanks!

If so--none of us from my school have heard from them, either. Including someone who's worked for them every year for like 6 years, so I would be SHOCKED if he doesn't get an interview. But--if someone's heard from them, I'd be very curious!
I had to schedule the interview I had today myself, but it says that the applicant has to contact them on the VIRMP website.

No, I didn't apply to AMC. I know of one or two of my classmates that applied there, so I can ask if they've heard back.
I'm waiting to hear back from practices in Florida. I thought interviews started next week during the holiday break, so it seems like they should have contacted applicants by now.

I asked the person who I thought had applied to AMC, and he actually applied to Red Bank. Oops. Sorry I can't help you out.
FVS contacted me last week, but never got back to me about a date/time for an interview. I assume interviews start next week though, but maybe not?

I could be completely wrong, but I'd guess they would interview a lot of people. They're trying to match a class of 20 and not everyone who applies will rank AMC first. I'm sure they want to rank as many people as possible to avoid having to scramble to fill the class after the match results are announced.
Just for perspective, the hospital where I work interviewed about 80 applicants for a class of 6 last year. We've been warned to brace for the rush again over the next few weeks 🙂. (I'm looking forward to it myself - I love meeting new externs and prospective interns and I like it when things are a little hectic.) Last year we matched all 6 places, but the previous year we only matched 2 of 6. Maybe AMC expects to match all its spots without going very far down the list, but it seems like a somewhat risky bet to me.

At least four from K-State. They're interviewing over three weeks, 20 minute phone interviews stacked up--that's a lot.
Remember though that almost all the applicants are applying to multiple programs. So the programs have to rank a lot more applicants than they have spots because a lot of the ones they rank are going to match elsewhere.

Right. Like I said, last year we interviewed 80ish and matched 6 for 6. The previous year fewer were ranked (around 30-40 maybe?) and only matched 2 of 6. It's kind of a crapshoot on both sides. Applicants want places about as badly as institutions want to fill their places, and there are no guarantees for either party!

Just bumping this thread up....have had a couple of interviews and am getting excited/nervous about generating my rank list. Has anyone finalized theirs yet? (not asking for details, just status on the process)

Call your state veterinary office! That's what a lot of people in Ohio did so we wouldn't have to wait for the letters.
