is it ok to do an internship as a soph. undergrad or should a person wait until they are in pharmacy school 😕

It's usually impossible. Michigan won't license you as an intern until you've started pharmacy school.

ok. thank you

i applied for an internship and the person wants to meet with me. i guess ill just have tell him i made a mistake. i feel silly😡

Try explaining your situation and see what happens. Maybe they have a different definition of "intern". The only reason that I know about MI and interns is because I did my undergrad there and couldn't get an internship even after I was accepted to pharmacy school. I needed to be "enrolled". Good luck!

FWIW:

ND: You have to have started Pharm School (You fill out your intern license app during orientation)
MN: You cannot register as an intern until you have completed your first year.

On the bright side-at least the person wants to meet with you. I applied to be a PharmTech in ND while doing undergrad, since that's what I did the previous summer in MN, and was PTCB certified to boot. The owner still interviewed me, and we had a nice chat. Then she told me that all Techs in ND have to go to a 2-year tech school, and thus-I couldn't have the job. But from that chat, I made a contact. A contact whose husband sits on the ND Board of Pharmacy. I guess it wasn't a waste of time...

hee hee- "networking" strikes again!
