Hi:

I did NBME (#1) test for Step 2 and score 590. How reliable this test is in terms of scoring 😕 ? I am taking the real thing in 4 days :scared: . Also, does it worth to spend another $45 for the #2 test? I'm aiming >220.

Also, I finished USMLEWORLD (64%), Kaplan Q-bank (72%).

Any feedback would be greatly appreciated 🙂

Thanks!!

In July someone posted that on step 2 the mean was 216, SD 23.
One way to do it is to use linear transformation (this assumes that board scores and CBSSA scores are normally distributed). If you multiply the CBSSA score by .23, an average score of 500 becomes a 115. Whoops, too low; 101 points too low, to be exact. The formula then is:

USMLE=CBSSA(.23)+101

as for how well they compare, your guess is as good as mine (I take it on Saturday! :scared: ) but I hear they do fairly well.

Hey ak1978:

Many many thanks for your response. I am a Math idiot :laugh:

I plugged in the numbers and it came out more than 220, I hope the CBSSA score is comparable to the real thing.

Did you take #1 or #2 or Both?

Anyway, BEST OF LUCK to your Step 2 and BEST OF LUCK to ALL your INTERVIEWS 🙂
