Hello,

I have an interview coming up towards the end of January and it's my first one so I'd appreciate any tips you guys have to share! I've been using the questions here on SDN to prepare for the RSO interview, but if there are other specific things I should review please let me know.

Also, I've been looking around for my interview suit and was wondering what your opinions are on whole pant suit vs. skirt suit as well as the color options? I was also concerned about carrying a purse to the interview. I want somewhere to put my phone/hotel keys/little things I might need throughout the day, but I'm not sure if I should bring an average sized tote bag or a smaller shoulder bag? Both would be simple and neutral colors. I was just wondering about the size in case we get a lot of papers and need somewhere to put them then the larger tote would be a better option.

If anyone's interviewed at RSO before do you guys know how on schedule the day remains? I'm flying in from out of state and so I have a flight at 6pm and the interview is supposed to end by 3pm so I'm hoping that leaves me enough time to catch the shuttle to my hotel then get a cab to the airport.

Thanks for all your help!!!

Hi,

I interviewed at RSO. Some girls wore skirts, I myself wore a pant suit as did many others. Nearly everyone's was black. Also many of the girls carried their purse with them for the day. They give you a folder of information when you get there but that's about it for papers. They aren't kidding when they say you will be there till 3, I think our day lasted until about 3:30.

Thanks for helping me out! I was thinking of wearing black pants, but playing around with the blazer and having a tweed blazer that's black and white. Do you think that would still be appropriate? But, okay I'm just going to go ahead and bring the tote then. Also, I'm not sure when you interviewed, but do we need to wear a coat over our interview outfit? I'm assuming the tour is partially outside and it might be chilly since it's January even though it's Texas!

I interviewed in December and it was like 80. we didn't spend much time outside at all, just driving to the clinic was all.

Okay thanks! Also, are we supposed to provide the transportation to get to the clinic?

do you guys know if their class is almost full?

No sorry, I don't know any of the specifics on the amount of students they have already admitted!

Hey guys, I have a few more questions! I went shopping today and lets just say I am overwhelmed with the amount of choices there are. I noticed that suit jackets come in varying lengths. Ladies where did the bottom of your suit jacket rest? I've seen some that come barely under the start of the waistline and then others that are far lower.

Please help me out! 🙂

Honestly when I went to my SUNY interview last week, all four of us girls were dressed really differently and all four of us were accepted, so I think you'll be okay no matter what you wear. Just look professional whether its a pant suit or a skirt and a blazer. I got my interview clothes from express on black friday because everything was 50% off. I wore a black blazer (bottom rested right at my hips) and black dress pants with a light pink blouse. Also, they don't care (at least at SUNY) if you bring a purse or a backpack. They understand that you have belongings that you need to bring with you.

Thank you! I checked out Express today as well and found some great items. Congratulations on your acceptance to SUNY!

Does anyone have any information on IUSO's admission day?

Thank you!
