Just got lastminute interviews from drexel and nymc.......havent been on one yet and need advise other than be yourself and be honest.....anyone whos interviewed there HELP!!!!!11

hi europun. having interviewed at both places, i'll try to as helpful as i can (although the details are a little bit cloudy as it's been a while). from what i can remember, the interviews for both schools are relatively short (about half an hour or so). they were both 'get to know you' type interviews, not really stressful. however, during my drexel interview, i was presented with a clinical scenario and asked how i would handle it.

definitely be nice to your student interviewer at drexel and keep in touch with that person b/c your student interviewer could talk to lisa cifelli (director of admissions) on your behalf. hope this was somewhat helpful. feel free to PM me if you have any other questions. good luck!

I interviewed at NYMC in January. They tell you to be there at 8am but nothing happens until your interview which I think earliest may be 9:30am or something like that. Anyway, don't kill yourself trying to get there on time (like I did) because it didn't end up mattering. They give you a light snack/breakfast. Somebody comes and talks to you about financial aid, and if you're like me you don't give a **** about financial aid until you get in somewhere so you don't really pay attention. Then a fourth year student comes and talks to you about his/her experience. You interview, go on a tour, and have lunch. My interview was only 30 minutes long, and it sucked. Other people had good experiences, but the lady I talked to was the most unengaging conversationalist ever. She was also not a doctor, a professor, or in any way affiliated with the admissions committee so I was kind of annoyed that she was supposed to judge whether or not I would make a good medical student. Some people on other dates had student interviewers but I think they couldn't find any for mine.

In sum, the day is very chill and you spend enormous amounts of time just waiting around in this one room.

The students there seemed relatively happy, but then all the students seem happy at all the places I've interviewed. The campus is nice in that it's completely suburban and there's lots of trees and grass. But in my opinion, kind of suffocating because it seems like students there are kind of trapped on campus and unless you have a car or are extremely motivated to be social and go places, you're stuck. They also seem to have exams a lot.

Good luck!

Euro,

I had last minute interviews at both when I applied and ended up getting in to NYMC, I got off another waitlist so I didn't attend. Anyway, my point is they accept late in the game so you have good shots at both.

I agree with 'City..', they are really get to know you interviews without alot of stress. Seems they really are just trying to see how you think when you answer their questions so nothing is overly tough.

You will do great.
