I am surprised to know that the program coordinator won't give me the names of interviewers and agenda of the interview day untill 9am on the interview day.
She sounded impatient when I asked about the names of interviewers in the phone:scared:
All other programs will send me the agenda 1 week ahead except Brown. Don't understand why she does so.

Can anybody give a hint about how the interview day looks like?
Many thanks

That's odd. Maybe she hasn't finalized the schedule, sometimes that is an issue at programs (faculty availability is questionable, subject to change, etc). I would bring this up at your interview though, tell the PD, he/she will likely not be happy to hear that about the coordinator as it reflects poorly on their program.

Unless, of course, it is all the PDs idea (unlikely).

yeah, they sound disorganized and it is highly unlikely they are attempting to mess with you. More likely they have no idea who they can sucker into interviewing people until the day of.

If you sense more disorganization upon arrival, I would call that a red flag.

It might bring a negative thing to me if I complain to the director about the coordinator.
I appreciate it if anyone can post his/her experience there.

If Brown is your number one, then you have more to worry about than just a mysterious interview day.

otherwise, just chill.

I'll interview there too and was also told that the schedule will be given only on the interview day. From what I heard from people who interviewed there quite a few years ago, this is just how they do things. Not sure if this is out of convenience or they just never realize that everyone else does it differently.

It's not a negative thing if it affects your impression of the program. If you bring it up in a polite fashion they will not hold it against you. If they do, then you do not want to be there anyway. People worry too much about things being taken negatively. Program directors have far more problems with people NOT saying things that are bothering them, that is part of the overall issue. They are constantly looking for feedback on how to improve the process. It is recruitment for them as well.

I personally wouldn't take the risk of losing one probable program for my ROL. However, I may tell the PD this problem if I don't like this program at hte end of my interview.

OK, but I don't really consider it a risk, for the reasons stated above. Sitting idly by when something bothers you or negatively affects your view of the program is not the best way to go through the process. I would suspect that would appreciate your comments. But program directors are people, and people can definitely be weird.
