Hello,

Could anyone please help me out in preparing for an interview for pharmacy school admission? Any advice on Do's and Don'ts is appreciated.

Someone told me pharmacy schools doesn't like students who plan on going into retail pharmacies; they prefer students who are going to be a clinical pharmacist or work on research. Is it true?

Thank you so much!🙂

You should look over in the pre-pharm forum (where this thread should be). There are quite a few threads going about this topic. Definitely check out the interview feedback here.

I don't really know how schools feel about students going into retail. In reality, a majority of students go into this field so they shouldn't have a problem with it. Its better to be able to talk about what field you want to go into and why rather than lie because you think that's what they want to hear.

65% of graduates become community pharmacists, 25% hospital/institution, 10% other.

It is going to look worse if you make yourself sound like something your not. If you are passionate about retail pharmacy, then trying to sound like your passionate about another area is going to sound fake, and the number one thing people tend how well you present yourself.

The worst thing I find sitting on an interview panel is when someone says they want to be a clinical pharmacist, but have not an inkling of a clue what a clinical pharmacist really does. I would be careful what terminology you use in your interview =)

I wouldn't worry about what you think they want to hear. Be yourself and if that doesn't get you the spot then its their loss and its not the right school for you.

That's right. It's better to be myself. Thank you, people!

Does anyone know what kinds of questions they usually ask on the interview besides "why do you want to be a pharmacist?"
