i know they still have seats. they asked me to send them my updated transcripts last week and said they'd review my file again. i applied early june and still havn't heard anything..so we'll see what happens.

did you get the letter in the mail or email?

mail....no email...no phone call....

and it took FOREVER to reach my house....I live in NYC suburbs...and it took more than a week for the letter to reach me....

Good luck! Be prepared to ask A LOT of questions (good questions that show you know what NYU is about - diversity, class size, why new york is the place to be, etc.) and really be able to explain any deficiencies in your application...every bad grade might need an explanation.

Be sure to check out interview feedback.

My interview with NYU wasn't bad at all. It was basically just a conversation with the doctor who interviewed me and he never once asked about any deficiences in my application (there are many).l The interview itself lasts about 15 minutes, with everything together lasting about 5 and a half hours (mine went from 8-about 1:30).

If you are interviewing this late I'd say you have a pretty good chance of being accepted granted you aren't a weirdo or give them that thought. Good luck,,,

really...i thought it was the other way around....i thought that interviewing late was a bad thing....

Normally, yes it is a bad thing to interview late in the cycle. However, take into account that most schools do not interview this late, and conclude in mid to late March. Looks like NYU needs to fill a seat or two and you may be the lucky guy.

Interviewed friday May 12th and didn't think I had a chance but I got an email of acceptance the following monday May 15th. So go and goodluck.

If you've had interviews before then this will be one of the most relaxing interviews. Basically he told me to relax and that this was going to be more of a conversation than interview. He said he would speak most of the time and he did about the school and about the falsity of the high fail out rate rumor. Then he basically asked me about why I went into dentistry when I was well qualified to become a researcher, medical physician, etc. (never ever heard anyone tell me that before :meanie: ). And basically I told him because of passion. Anyway, thats probably the hardest question he asked me. Then I asked him a few questions about life in NY and at NYU and if they had joint programs. He told me about the schools future collaboration with the nursing school for practical care and the new aesthetics department/clinic. I also asked about the direction of the school with the "new" dean (my mistake) and he corrected me and said things are changing for the better with the same dean  . He also asked me why I wasn't accepted to other schools that waitlisted me (Tufts, BU, and Pitt) and basically I told him that it might have been because I wasn't as strong or competitive in certain areas of my app (didn't list any dental activities or experience at the time of applying but listed them on the supplemental that had us filled out before the interview).

I was also talkative while waiting, talking to other interviewees and the secretary. Then we got a tour and was really talkative with the students and Novella Jones (asst. dean for student affairs and adm). I was just asking about the school and living in NY. Basically i was dead tired but was really talkative and became excited when hearing more about the school and NY. Novella also asked me for my name so I guess she thought I was a interviewee to remember (an assumption). So basically that was my day in detail... not sure if you wanted that much detail but I hope it helps. And oh yeah, she told me that the interviews are running late bc they were without an admission director for awhile so everything was slowed down immensely.

Hope you get in because it is a great school and place to live even with the hefty price tag. Basically be yourself, smile alot, and be sociable and interested.

Well since all I'm doing is being bored before the Miami and Detroit game and watching Harold and Kumar Goes to White Castle, I'll answer your question. :meanie: I got into NY around 6:20pm but didnt arrive at my hotel until 9pm the day before the interview. Got about 4-5 hrs of sleep and woke up at 6:30am. My hotel was the Grand Union on 32nd street I believe, so it took me about 20-30 mins to walk to NYU on 24th street. Got there around 7:30 ish to fill out the supplemental. By around 8am I was in there for the interview (this was by random selection). So come at least 30 min early to fill out the supplemental and no need to bring any extra info. Its simply used for an update and I guess for the interviewer to have. Hope that helps.

thanks...btw Harold and Kumar is funny as hell...

Hey...does anyone know if they're done interviewing???
