Hey everyone,
I've been reading the SDN forum for a short time and have read positive things about the PCO interview. I have my interview in March. I was just wondering if anyone had any advice for me. Thanks!

:luck:

read all interview feedbacks and write down some answers to the questions.
That's how I prepared it. It's very relaxed interview so don't get too nervous!

I hope you'll be one of our PCO class of 2012!

Hello! I had my first optometry school interview at PCO and was EXTREMELY nervous going into it, and that nervousness turned out to be unwarranted.

Like Jamieyum said, it's very relaxed and everyone there is really nice. I found out about my acceptance probably about 2-3 weeks after my interview, but I've heard that it varies from person to person. I didn't end up accepting the seat, so there's at least my spot left! 🙂

As far as interview questions go, I found this forum to be very accurate.. the most challenging question I had was about current issues in optometry. Just know the profession, and be able to express what you like about it and why you'd make a good optometrist. Good luck to you!

Thanks for the encouragement! I really hope to be a part of PCO class of 2012! Wish me luck!

😀

the PCO interview is fun. its one on one. then you have another small minor interview with an admissions counselor to discuss your file to make sure they get what they need.

Hey there,

If you are going to be interviewing there I would recommend getting some practice in. It will help with your anxiety (even if it is an easier interview). I had some family help me with my preparation. I am kind of a geek and actually used one of the interview prep coaches on the web. It put me back about 50 bucks but it helped with my confidence.

I don't think you have much too worry about with this interview though. Just relax and be confident!
