Hi Guys,
Just got a call from Ms. Janet regarding confirming my interview on the 10th of September 🙂. This is the first interview call that I have received, so am pretty excited, but at the same time I dont know what to expect in the interview. If anyone has their interview on the same day, please let me know. I shall be grateful for any advice or suggestions on how to prepare for the interview .

I got an interview call today morning !!!😀. But I declined it cos I am already accepted by Columbia University. So someone else will get a call instead of me.

I applied sometime in the second week of July.
My stats are NBDE Part1 90,
TOEFL 114, GPA 3.54.

congrats to all those who got interview calls...please can you tell me that when ms Janet called you guys...was that the only form of communication you had with her or did she e mail you as wel regarding the interview...im just curious as i have aplied and hoping to get an interview call...the problem is that i am on vacation right now and my phone and voicemail are not accessible...
plz let me know if they e mailed you as well

Hi Marlboro Lights,
I got a call from Ms Janet on the 30th or 31st and she said that she shall mail out a packet containing the schedule for the day of interview. i received my packet on 2nd august. all the best👍

I am sure you will be invited for the interview....one of my friends submitted her application towards the end of the application cycle...she was interviewed on the 16th of Jan and was also offered admission but she had already gotten into another school by then...so, dont lose hope. all the best👍
btw, wt are ur stats?
 
😕MY stats are NBDE 91 ,Toefl 113, GPA 3.26
I have submitted my application in june ,But still i didnot rceive any call or letter.It means they rejected me

i have yet to send my application packet..i had a few questions regarding the required documents...
1) dont we have to submit any recommendation letters?
2) can the evaluation be of some other institution like the WES or has it to be only ECE?
i tried calling janet couple of times, but it goes on a vm..

U of MN does not insist on sending recommendation letters, but i did send them anyways. They require that your transcripts be evaluated by ECE only. You can go through the section on FAQs in their website. All the best👍

yes, i am now studying in umn.

i came here to interview in january 15,2008.

it was snowing cats and dogs...

that day the interview was from 8 am to 3 pm..i was very tired..

i have three interviewers to talk with.. around 40 minutes for each great professor...

i can not remember the exactly questions...just common ones...

dont panic,,just relax.. you guys will definitely get in here...

because,,you guys are genius...

Miss Janet is so warm!! And Dr.Peter Berthold is the coolest guy on this planet!!!

When you guys get off the plane,,,please take the light rail to the Metrodome
Station. If you dont know where to take the light rail at the airport,,please do ask....The people in minneapolis is just nice,,very very nice......

and then you get off the light rail at metrodome station,,,,you can see a bus stop right next to the station,,,take the east-bound #16 bus to Washington Avenue,, and then get off,, you can see Moos Tower. the whole price is only
2 dollars....

but if you dont like it,,u can take taxi at the airport,,around 35 dollars...

about living,,,i strongly recommend Radisson Hotel,,which is just one block away from moos tower...

There will be detail information in your interview packet..Dont worry about the trip..enjoy it...

You can also take the 50 bus to Moos Tower. Both the 16 and the 50 stop in front of the dental school and one or the other runs approximately every 10 minutes. The bus stop in front of Moos Tower is called "Washington and Harvard". It is two stops after the U of MN West Bank stop. Good luck to everyone. All of the staff and professors seem to be very nice.

HI Zsy lzy can you plz tell what r the criteria to get into UMn? what does they really expect from the appicants? is it the NBDE score or GPA or experience or anything else?

I guess they sent me an application completion mail within a couple of days of them receiving my application packet.
 
I applied to umn on aug 23rd & got an email from janet saying my application is complete. when will they start the interviews? my sats are part1 82 (new version), toefl 106, ece 3.17 have 6yrs of experiance in my country & 1yr in u.s as oral surgery assistant. do i stand a chance?
 
I applied to UMN on Aug25 got an E-mail from Janet on 29. she said something on the mail that next interviews going to be mid September.
my stat:
NBDE part1 83
Toefl 97
GPA 2.96

Yes you can still apply in UMn. Their deadline ends in dec' 08....they accept 10 international students each year.
