Hi guys, I have an interview on Friday at UMDNJ and is my 1st interview for this cycle. I am very nervous and would like to know any insight on interview tips at this school. Please advise about anything you know like possible questions and great answers. Thanks in advance!!!:xf::xf::xf:

What are your stats? (GPA/DAT).....Thanks......

My stats are very low competitive. GPA 3.3/3.2 DAT 17/18/17

When did you get the invite?

Thanks, my GPA was 3.67 but my DAT was 17/16/16, so I was wondering if I had a chance of receiving an invite at this point......Good Luck to you!!!

There's always a chance, I've seen that there's a point where is only getting lucky. Of course people with low stats will get invites if any post dec, when great applicants are already accepted. Good luck for you too!:xf:

hey I was asked about my undergrad experience and manual dexterity.
good luck.

It is very relaxed. My best advice is don't worry about a thing. It was more of a conversation once it got going for me. Have some questions of your own to ask at the end too. IMO it's not good when they say "So do you have any questions for me?" and you kind of just freeze up.

In any case, I was asked:
- Tell me about the different schools I've been to (b/c I spent a semester somewhere else and took two other random classes at different schools)
- While going through app, asked about my manual dexterity skills that I wrote
- What got me into dentistry

And read through these:

FWIW, I didn't practice for my interview(s) at all, just read through the above link the morning of. That may not be the best option for everyone though.

UMDNJ was so down-to-earth when I went for my interview.

My interviewer asked about my research and to tell him about anything on my application (so I guess, know what you wrote, and you'll be fine). He also asked the basic: why dentistry? why would you want to come to new jersey? (I'm from NYC)

Nothing was stressful though... it was a conversation and not an interview.
I also loved their facilities!

umdnj interview is VERYYYYY chilled
my interviewing wasnt even asking me any q's!!!!
we just talked like he was one of my friends
we spoke about scuba diving for 10 min, how dangerous the area is around kings county (volunteered at their dental clinic), and where he went to dental school and why he chose to speacilize in perio.
only "question" he asked me was do i have any friends at UMDNJ and what do they say bout the school.

o and they have deli sandwiches for lunch and a power point presentation
you'll be dont at ~2 p.m.
goodluck with the interview
