How do you handle being interview by a resident? Same approach as you would if it were faculty?
More casually?

My program almost always has a resident interviewer and I interview for our program frequently. It's still an interview.

I've had interviewees literally start dropping f-bombs. This was someone who did very will on their other interviews and had a great app. Don't be that guy.

It's fine to be more casual, but it's still and interview. It's not the time to start swearing and acting like you're old drinking buddies.

Yes always respect the hierarchy. You are still a lowly student although you are about to be Dr. Somebody and while you feel so special interviewing for your first real doctor job, the resident is still Dr. Above You in So Many Ways. They can get just as prickly about hierarchy as anyone. Also, sometimes the residents tapped to do these interviews are the admin type, or they are looking to be Chief or something one day, so like I said, do not approach them like a peer.
