Hello, I am currently a pre pharm student minoring in business mgmt and I was wondering if any PharmdD students or practitioners would be willing to help me out in an interview? This interview is based on first time contact and I was unable to find any pharmacists in my area to take time off for an interview. I will be extremely thankful if someone would be willing to take a lil bit of your time off to answer these questions considering ethics in pharmacy. Thank you!
1). Does your organization have an official code of ethical standards? If so, do feel that it is effective, and do employees comply with the standards? How is it enforced? (Obtain a copy of their ethics policies or code, if one exists.) If not, why not?
(2). If your organization does not have a code of ethics, how are ethical dilemmas/concerns dealt with?
(3). Do you personally belong to any professional associations related to your job that have ethical codes (e.g., American Marketing Association, Academy of Management, etc.).
(4). What types of ethical dilemmas have you personally had to deal with in your current job? (e.g., conflicts of interest, dishonesty, etc.). What ethical dilemmas might I expect to face as I pursue a job in this field?). How seriously is unethical behavior taken in your organization/field?
(5). Does your organization have an ethics officer or ombudsperson? What about an ethics assist line or helpline? What would you do if you faced an ethical dilemma at work?
