It has been established on the anesthesia threads that the date of the interview does not matter in terms of chances of getting into a program.

Does anyone know if it matters for prelims/transitionals since they probably just want their programs to fill up and care less about the applicants?

Its hard to decide whether to put some off until later....

Because of the match, it really shouldn't matter when you interview.

If you put off getting your interviews scheduled, programs might run out of interview slots. This will certainly be true for TY years which are relatively competitive, less so for prelim years.

I agree with APD...outside of dates filling up, when you interview doesn't make a difference with regard to whether or not you match. If you are more interested in TYs, as aPD suggests, because they are more competitive, you might give preference to interviewing at those programs over a prelim interview the same day.
