I am trying to figure out my school schedule for the Fall, during interview season. I am not taking many hours, but am trying to figure out what would work better: Tu/Th or MWF classes?

Do most schools have interviews all 5 days of the week? What were the most common interview days offered to you?

I know this is a vague question, but I am just trying to see if there is a common pattern...I guess my hope is that it is possible to mostly schedule Mon or Fri interviews, with a Tu/Th class schedule...as opposed to having a MWF class schedule where it would seem more likely I might have conflicts...

Insights and anecdotes appreciated.

In my experience, my schools' interview days have been friday only, monday/friday or thursday/friday. However, I know there are schools that also interview every day of the week, so it's really going to depend on where you apply. Check out the secondary threads for schools you are interested in and see when most people were having their interviews, that's probably your best bet.

It is going to vary a lot...

I had some schools that only did Monday/Friday, but others that only did Tuesday/Thursday (which is really annoying when it's on the other side of the country). Other schools were every day.

In addition, depending on when you get invited to interview, you may not have every day as an option.

EDIT:

In general I would say just don't think of classes as a conflict when considering interviews. At this point in your life the interviews are far more important.

I have a friend applying to graduate schools and their interview processes last 4 days (they take you somewhere...she's been skiing, to a vineyard, a brewery etc...). In February she missed 3 days of school EVERY week for 4 consecutive interviews. It just has to be done.

Do T/Th classes. Most interviews can be scheduled on a Monday so that you travel on sunday, interview on monday, and can be back before tuesday's classes. I scheduled MWF classes, and that didn't help me one bit 😛

But, wookie is right...you have to skip classes for interviews. It's inevitable.

I had all my classes on Tu/Th during my interview season and it worked out perfectly. I was able to schedule all of my interviews with ample travel time and never missed a class because of it. It really helped make the process more relaxing.

Agreed. Tu/Th is your friend.

I agree with this. T/Th you will probably miss the least amount of class, but you will probably end up missing some.
