I know most of you guys giving advice to each other what to wear and what not to wear. I am thinking not to wear suit.
I am thinking about wearing

White Shirt
Skinny diagonal stripes tie (grey and white stripes)
Grey pants
Grey cardigan
Black (Kenneth Cole watch)
Black shoes with matched socks

Is that a good idea?
 
I would wear a suit.

Imagine this is a job interview. I wouldn't wear a skinny tie, it screams "I'm trying to make a fashion statement." You can't go wrong with the following:

Grey/Charcoal/Navy suit (note, don't do a straight black suit, you're not a limo driver)
White shirt (100% cotton, no oxfords)
Blue or green tie (not solid, but something with a subtle pattern...don't choose a red "power" tie, red subconsciously evokes anger/aggression in the average person...seriously)
Black belt/black shoes
A watch, but nothing too flashy (ie don't wear your Breitling)

A suit is classic business formal. As far as I'm concerned, it's the only way for a man to present himself in an interview.

I kinda agree with you on this but don't suit.

My other option is:

Plain lime green shirt
Navy blue with polka green dots tie
Navy blue pants with black leather belt
A black leather and blue dial watch
Black shoes with matched socks

I hate wearing suit 🙁 tut your argument is convincing 😀

Hmmm...if you don't have a suit and it's not an option, I'd do something like the following:

Business slacks (if you don't have any, you can definitely get a nice pair at your local TJ Maxx/Marshalls/Ross/etc... for like $20)
White or light blue shirt
Appropriate tie
and then everything like you said

Obviously the cost of purchasing a suit is not cheap, so do your best. It's good that you're giving serious thought to how you're presenting yourself. I get the distinct impression that it's an afterthought for a lot of people.

I give lot of thoughts about color and matching 😀 Suit maybe an option, but need to find something cheap. Damn need to go around this weekend again 👎
 
It can work for and against you going against the norm. Perhaps a "lavender tie" with grey suit works "for you", but once you enter the realm of "lets not even wear a suit" you are going into the "against you realm". I'm not for it. Its a job interview. Conform, get in, then you can wear your other stuff.
 
Remember who you are trying to impress, 35-65 year old dental professionals. Based on my interviews so far, I would lean toward the 65 year old end of the spectrum. These are not the 20 year old girls that you are usually trying to impress who love your slim slacks and skinny ties (which i think are much more flattering and personally wear on business casual occasions). My point is that I don't think this is the same crowd that watches project runway and will scoff at a three button suit as being "so nineties".
That is why it is important to dress conservatively, even if you think it looks boring. Though there may be one adcom who thinks a white suit, or in your case a grey cardigan is really special and distinctive and is going to accept you for being different, there are 99 who will write you off as unprofessional. That is the reason why politicians dress the way they do, they have done plenty of studies and determined that the way they dress instills confidence in the widest variety of people.
You can take your chances, maybe you'll get that random adcom who has the same taste as your girlfriend, but for me, I'm betting that I'll get one of the other ninety nine.

Thanks for the advice, I am going to go with conservative one. I don't want to go crazy with vibrant colors.
