Hi, can someone please tell me which school they got interviews and their experiences (e.g. questions they ask you)?

Do you have to fly to another state for an interview or do they have representatives in your state?

Thanks

Start flapping your wings because if you get an interview from another state your going to have to fly. I do know that BU does regional interviews for those on the west coast.

unlike interviewing for college, where a representative or alumni would interview you at a convenient location, dental schools expect you to interview at the facility. This quite honestly is the best policy. In order to get an idea of what the atmosphere, students, school are like going there is the only way to find out.

I got interviewed at everyschool I applied to and they were pretty much all asking the same sort of things.
"what do you do in your free time? Tell me about your research. If i were to ask one of your parents your three best/worst qualities what would they be? Why dentistry and why this program? what did you think about a recent event? What kind of dentistry are you interested in? where did you buy your tie? why did you go to a state school for undergrad when you had the option of some very competitive private schools? how do you plan to pay for dental school? would you be happy in this city, and how do you know? when did you get to Uni. and where are you staying? What sports do you play?

and my personal favorite asked at 2 out of the 3 Ivy schools:

"I see you play golf and tennis, how can i correct my killer slice and do you do play doubles?🙂"

Most of my interviews weren't like interviews but fun conversations. They want to get to know you, but then again it really depends who is interviewing you. At one of my interviews, the faculty member was pretty cocky and didn't really show any interest. This particular school actually schedules the interviews during lunch and they are only 15 minutes. ANother school i interviewed at likes to intimidate the interviewee with 3 ad-com member to the interviewee. It like a firing squad.
If you have any questions PM me.
