Interview for alternate list

I just got a letter from Case saying they would like me to come in for a interview for there alternate list. What the hell does that mean? Is the incoming 2004 class full ?
Or does my application suck so bad they've already relegated me to the alternate list?

Yah I got the same thing about 2.5 weeks ago.....Ive been hearing that Case interviews right away and tries to fill their class ASAP, so I dont know if the alternate list interview is for that reason. My stats are a bit low, so it could be for that reason as well.

By the way, I called right away to book my interview and apparently I was one of the first for the alternate list, and the first available interview for us is in March....LONG WAYS TO GO, EH! But dont worry, because the date of your interview does not matter.

This is how the alternate list at Case works according to an email from Dr. Dalsky, Director of Admissions:

"Our alternate list is a ranked list, meaning that if a candidate is offered acceptance and elects to be placed on the list their eventual ranking will be based upon their qualifications and not the chronological date of their interview."
