Someone told me this might be bc its healthcare and people work weird hours?? But this doesn't seem normal?
Volunteering its in a clinical/underserved area..

EDIT: its a competitive volunteering position so before I ask for a different time, I want to confirm that this isn't normal

We see this allllllll the time at my facility. It's not abnormal for us to potential techs, nurses, doctors strolling through the ER at 9 or 10 p.m. for a tour as part of their interview. Usually these people are being interviewed by people NOT in the HR department though, so I'm not sure about volunteering.

I interviewed one nurse at 5:30am
