I was wondering if it was worth the trouble to interview for a waitlist spot at MCW? Do they have a lot of movement?

I did some searches on the boards and saw that people really loved the school so I would like to check it out, but if it they don't have too much movement I won't bother.

I guess I'm only reiterating what you stated and not really answering your question, but I really enjoyed my interview at MCW. The facilities were very modern and the students honestly had nothing but great thing to say about the education they’re receiving. I'd say go for it. What do you have to loose? Except a couple hundred bucks in travel expenses that is. Good luck if you decide to go. 😉

I think they generally have pretty good waitlist movement. I remember the Admissions Director saying that one year, they took the entire class off the waitlist so it's definitely worth checking out.

I think that they have accepted ~40 and ~80 off of the waitlists the previous 2 years. I think that its worth a shot.

I liked the school too. I got to hang out with med students and faculty at night after my interview too because my MSI friend let me tag a long. I only wished I got a tour of the hospitals during the student tour.

GO TO THE INTERVIEW!

Last year they took 90 applicants off the waitlist.

I'm interviewing at MCW on Feb 4. Any advice? (aside from interview feedback, of course) Thanks in advance. 🙂

My easiest interview hands down. They didn't ask about my academics (except for my MCAT score) and concentratd mostly on my family, interests, and volunteer work. Enjoy the day. Get there early to get your food voucher. Food is pretty cheap at the cafeteria.

Most people in general had a laid back interview with the M3 or M4, but either an awkward or great interview with a faculty member.

The m3 that interviewed me asked basically 15 questions (An experience where I failed, what do I do for fun...). The faculty member wasn't prepared at all and the entire interview was really slow and awkward. But, others interviewing with me that day said their interviews went great so...

The interviewers also have not read anything on you until you just about step into the door. So be prepared to wait while they shuffle through your AMCAS app to ask specific questions.

Also, they interview like 50 people at one time.

Hope that helps,

GOBUCKY!

Thanks guys!! Keep it coming. 😀
