I have an interview at Marquette on Oct 21st and I am trying to get help preparing for it.

As all of you who are possibly viewing this thread are presently in dental school, what did you find as things that positively influenced your interview and subsequent acceptance into that school.

Any help would be great and useful in my preparation for my interview!

Thanks

There is a section in studentdoctor where you can find old interview questions for each school. Start there and see what was asked and if people mentioned how nice the interviewers were. The three schools I interviewed at were really chill and calm places. It was more like a conversation. But I have friends at other schools that got DRILLED by their interviewers. Study those interview questions and other typical questions asked. Don't look like you're reciting answers. Look directly at their eyes, have a smiling face. Interviews show your personality and social nature. You don't want to seem shy and nervous. ASK QUESTIONS during the interview. During the tour, even if you have your question answered by the student, if it's a good one then ask the interviewer. Make a list of these questions in your binder. Make them specific to the school. If they ask why Marquette, be sure to obviously compliment everything about the school (something you should study the night before on the website) and find out during the tour. That's it...just seem really interested and act like you love it there

thanks oneluv4uk, i interviewed at Marquette last year and was put on their alternate list. I LOVED the school and know that's where I want to be for my education. This year I'm hoping that they see my desire and passion for their school and I hope I'm more relaxed and open with them than I think I was last year! Thanks for your advice! I'll check out the interview question section and go from there!!! Thanks

Your welcome! I think the fact that you reapplied there and gotten another interview shows you're definitely ahead of the game. Dental schools love reapplicants and give greater preference to them
