Just curious, how are planning on preparing for your interview (in addition to web resources and SDN)?

Little preparation (natural speaker), mock interviews, self-recorded interviews, etc.?

I would appreciate it if we could discuss how to better improve our skills.

Personally, I thinking on just doing some mirror prep. I'm pretty strapped for time, and as much as I'd like to do a mock interview, I don't have the time 😕

What are you going to do?

It seems like a few people answered the poll, but it seems no one wants to discuss.

Well, that's all right too I suppose. 😛

im a good speaker so im not gonna practice-just looking at the questions on the Interview Feedback, i dont wanna sound rehearsed or fake..years of acting i think will help me improv if i get a question i havent seen without looking like an idiot 🙂

if you dont think you're a good speaker just make sure you dont over practice and sound fake!

Im going to practice with a friend who is already in dental school! his idea.

I'm a pretty good speaker too, so I'm not worried about sounding professional. What I AM worried about is how I'm going to answer some of the more difficult/bizarre questions.

Great points! One can easily over practice and sound fake!

And like PreDent11 said, I think it's more the bizarre questions that I'm a little worried about 🙄

Hey I was wondering where I can find interview feedback for schools, as mentioned above. Im looking for schools like NYU, UDM and ULSD. Thanks everyone.

well.... just saw "interview feedback" at the top of the page"... lol

I really had no time to prepare...I kinda just winged my answers at the interview. I also didn't want to sound robotic, so I didn't try to memorize anything - maybe just a few key points but that's all. SDN Interview feedback and this website helped me prepare: http://www.medicalhelpnet.com/content/view/43/61/

Seriously...just be yourself at the interview...you don't have to be a naturally gifted speaker or anything; just be genuine and passionate about what you hope to accomplish with a dental school education (and why you want to attend a particular school) - that should carry you through in my opinion. lol I've got to admit...too many people approach these interviews superficially and sell themselves too short - of their values and beliefs. I could see clearly through them with my own eyes - admission members are not stupid.

thats great advice, amped. I too am afraid of rehearing answers and sounding like a robot... not to mention if they dont ask you those expected questions.. you might feel thrown off. But in a way, I am a little terrified of being asked something I never really gave any thought to. Also... Im finding it really difficult to come up with many questions to ask the interviewer, should they ask me if I have any questions for them. Can anyone help me out with this>?

dude, just research the schools you have applied to and try to find everything you can while you are waiting for your invite/s.....and whatever you can't find, simply write them down and ask those questions during the interview....it is not that hard 😉

Good luck....

I had my first interview last friday, and my 2nd one today, and I will say that I will NEVER look at the interview feedback form again. You should NOT rehearse for those cause your answers should come from within instead of a memorized answer that you can't really put any passion into.

I did sooooo much better on today's interview cause I didn't rehearse for crap, I just went in there and was myself. I did much better today than I did last week.

Good luck to you all, from what I am seeing so far, these interviewers are just looking to talk to you, there is mostly no wrong/right answer to most of the questions they ask... they just want to have a conversation with you

Hey Dentalworks... congrats on the good interview. Just wondering where you interviewed?
