Hi,

I have my first interview next week. The (standard) email I received requested any updated information we had to be brought to the interview, but it didn't ask for anything specifically.

I'm going to bring my 3 publications that I didn't mention and what I've been up to recently with shadowing, but I wasn't sure if I should bring my transcript. My overall gpa is close to a 3.6, however I ended up with a 3.3 for the semester. I was taking 20 credits of major specific electives and a grad level class, along with research that is relatively overwhelming.

LizzyM's advice was to not give grades if your semester GPA is lower than what you applied with. My question is will I stick out for not bringing my Fall grades or would it be okay. On my original application I had a schedule change, I ended up dropping one elective because I already knew the material and adding the graduate level class which I received an A in. I don't know if it is more impressive that I took a grad class and excelled in it or more negative that I had a relatively low semester GPA.

Thanks for any advice

I would update with good news only. Don't draw attention to bad grades at interviews, unless specifically asked. I made the stupid mistake of answering the question, 'any red flags' with my physics second semester grade at an interview last cycle, and the results weren't pretty. The rule here- if they don't ask, don't tell.

I've never been to an interview where applicants were required To bring anything apart from a photo. My mock interviewer told me I would need a CV, but I was never asked about it. I think most updates are done either via email, mail, or online status page, not at the interview.
