hey all

relative newcomer here. i was wondering how interview invites are usually sent? do they send it to primary email listed in ERAS, or does a message come up when you log into ERAS, or do you get a voice mail?

also i heard that some places will give you alternatives for interview dates and some places will just tell you when you have been given a particular date/time to come. if you are on a rotation during december when you would have to ask permission to leave for the interview .. is it possible to delay getting back to them about if you are taking the interview? and is it possible to request a particular date or is that rude?

thanks everyone
:luck:

Usually, they'll send a message to your myeras, which will be forwarded to your email address. I would still check your myeras message center because you never know when an email accidentally makes it into your spam folder.

I think you want to respond quickly to interview invites because I've heard of programs in competitive fields offering interviews on a first come, first served basis, and if you wait too long to accept the offer you'll be put on the waitlist. I think it's fine to try to reschedule if necessary, as long as you give them enough notice.

thanks for quick reply 😎

im now trying to get out of mandatory clerkship in december , switch into relatively light elective during that time, to make interview scheduling easier. :xf: gotta keep fingers crossed that registrar can make the switch for me. until then though, and if there are no spots for me to switch, have you guys heard of people that were able to stay on clerkship in december (neuro, E.R.) though it is interview season?
