I know there are some previous posts about the Midwestern's interview processs, but since you will be by yourself the format might change a little.
For Dr. Jaurez and Dr. Ingles were the interviewers. Both are young, everyone in my group thought they were students. They began by letting me know to be myself and relaxed, and also that while I was talking they would enter my answers in a ?database? to see how my responses scored and ranked to others'. The questions they were very straightforward, and they give you ample time to respond. After they ask you questions, you will be able to ask them questions.
Some of the questions were: What are the three O's? What does optometry mean to do? Extracurricular activities? Why did you choose Midwestern? What are your goals after graduation? If you're not accepted this year, what will you do?
Of course my interview group talked about the questions and even though they told us they were using a pool of questions that were chosen randomly everyone (as far as we could tell) was asked the same questions.
One person in my group asked them in regard to the question about goals after graduation what type of responses they are looking for. They responded that they are looking for someone with ambition and drive.
One of the questions I asked was: What steps have you taken to ensure that the public is aware of the clinic being open to the public? I didn't bother asking about accreditation.
I know they have called some alternates at this time, so I am not sure of the exact number of seats left.
Just be relaxed and yourself in the interview, and you'll be fine. They really are interested in getting to know you as a person.
Good luck!
