I am going to be interviewing @ nyu next week. Heard that theres a luck of the draw with the interviewers....Was wondering if anyone had anything to say about Dr. Hittleman, questions he asks, best way to prepare and handle him? any input would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!

haha, Hittleman isn't as bad as everyone says. He lets you do most of the talking, I had him for my interview. He'll ask you only a few questions and let you take it from there, so be ready to talk and explain yourself thoroughly. he's pretty quiet for the most part, just nods as you talk and is pretty monotone. I ended up getting in so I hope that give you some confidence. Don't worry about Hittleman, he's harmless.

Hi Simma1285,

Congratulations on your interview at NYU. I'm not sure if my last message went through, so I'm writing it on the thread...i just joined sdn today. I was wondering, when did you apply and when did you receive the interview email/letter? Thank you.

I've been trying to get an interview at NYU, but I applied so late for various reasons...in january. my application started getting reviewed in march and didn't hear any word back. im still hoping for a shot because i know that the interview season ends in april.

I wouldn't worry too much about the nyu interview. Based on my experience there, they had pretty standard number based admissions and the interview didn't seem to count for a whole lot.

My interviewer was not particularly friendly and I didn't feel like it went very well, but I still got my admissions packet the next week.

I wouldn't say anything silly, but I wouldn't get too anxious about it either.

Good luck!
